Merino State offers new high-performance and eco Merino wool blends for athletic and outdoor applications and for all seasons.

Wool is increasingly being touted as a performance fiber, and, indeed, it performs quite well as an inherently thermal-regulating, moisture-wicking, antimicrobial, insulating, water-repellent, breathable, comfortable, durable, biodegradable material. Soft, fine-micron Merino wool is used not only in fashion and corporate apparel, but also in sports and outdoor apparel, and for all seasons. Australia- and New Zealand-based Charles Parsons’ Merino State brand offers Merino and Merino-blend fabrics for all of these uses. Its newest performance and eco Merino fabrics recently were launched to the U.S. market at the 2012 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City.

Wind turbines and high-tech smart meters win in GE challenge

Four months and 4,000 entries into G.E.’s much-touted Ecomagination challenge, where it promised financial support of $200 million into new ideas for targeted categories, it has come up with a total of 17 high-tech companies that it said it will fund.

 

The G.E. Ecomagination Challenge: Powering the Grid contest wanted to corner the best ideas mainly toward building a more efficient and economical power grid. It is part of the broader Ecomagination flagship campaign.

Upcoming Eco Expo Asia

The latest innovations in renewable energy, energy efficiency, natural resource protection and eco-friendly products will share center stage at the Eco Expo Asia, 3-6 November, in Hong Kong.

The event, now in its second year, is organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd., and is quickly becoming Asia’s leading environmental protection fair.

In 2009, the inaugural expo played host to over 200 exhibitors and was attended by visitors from over 100 countries.

New domain .eco

It seems that new top level domain .eco is coming in 2010.

Al Gore and M Gorbachev are supporting this movement but they backing up different organizations. The one is the Californian Dot Eco and the other is Canadian Big Room. More details can be found in BBC article and some other here.
